reuters messaging
By booyaa | January 24, 2006
i’ve been seeing lots of adverts for reuter’s instant messaging service. the adverts show imaginary conversations between traders all over the world.
is it me or does anyone else find the prospect of traders using instant messaging slightly disturbing (read: insider trading)?
sure everyone knows that email, internet, phone calls and instant messaging can be logged. the only problem with the current tools is that they don’t have the smart monitoring capabilities (i’m talking beyond watching for keywords) nor do they have the ability to spot trends. so unless someone is proactively going through these logs, they’re only useful after the fact.
in other news, stu’s got some facts and figures about hannover’s version of (notes 7.5) sametime. and yes there’s a link to a link for screenshots. nothing major to report, it’s nice to see the look and feel of notes is being retained.
