    saladwatch: week 2

    By booyaabooyaabooyaa | June 25, 2006

    rocket

As you can see we’ve made progress. The rocket was the first to sprout, I think it may have been Wednesday or Thursday when they first appeared. After which the Spinach followed suit…

Last but not least was the Lettuce…

Whilst this time around I decided not to plant two lines, I still planted a single line. I’m not sure why I did this, perhaps it’s from watching too many gardening programmes. There’s no reason why you would need to do this in a window box. Hopefully the 3rd batch will be sowed in a scattered pattern.

In other news…we have our first marigold bloom!

    our first home grown marigolds

The flowers are tiny in comparison to the ones we bought at the garden centre, but I think they’d make a fetching button hole.

The nicotiana are very close to flowering, I reckon I’ll have some pictures for next week.
