    Attention all shipping…

    By booyaa | January 2, 2007

..okay, maybe not shipping, but perhaps gardeners. Yes it’s booyaa’s semi random gardening update!

We had ordered some bulbs, they’ve arrived last week and I planted them yesterday.

Apologies for the lack of images for these bulbs, not had much luck locating any, let alone those who were using friendly creative commons licenses. You’ll just have to wait until flower! :) So in the meanwhile have a look at some of the pots I planted them in.

A mixture of bulbs (see description for details)Hyacinths 'Jan Bos' bulbs in a white ceramic pot

I’ve distributed about 7-8 Narcissi and Tulip bulbs; and a lot of Triteleias in our two big terracotta pots (Honeysuckle/Begonias and Geranium/Sweetpeas) and a zinc bucket.

We’ve also got some Hyacinths in a pot as well as one in a Hyacinth vase, which I hope to take photos of on a weekly basis.

I’ve also got a draft sowing plan for this coming year:

    January
    Parsnips seeds

    February
    Onion seeds and carrots

    March
Spinach and lettuce at weekly intervals.

    April
    Tomatoes (Minibel or Tumbler varieties)
    Rocket at weekly intervals.

    May
    Sow squash (possibly Golden)

This schedule is subject to change, I may opt for an easy life and just grow salad leaves and one of the vegetables. The carrots and parsnips will probably go in a very big container, this will require the relocation of the Honeysuckle into the Geranium pot I need to find a new container. I’m hoping by the time it comes to growing tomatoes we will have moved to our new place so I won’t have to think about where I’m going to place it.

regarding that choice of tomatoes… i’d rather set my heart on using organic heirloom varieties. are you open to negotiation? *bats eyelashes*
