    First run after a week’s rest

    1st run after a weeks rest

    I wanted to run on Saturday, unfortunately a combination of being in the office and London doing its best impression of the monsoon season prevented this from happening. According to Angela if I had decided to run there would’ve been some swimming involved.

    My coach (lou) advised me against running the full 11.5 miles since I had taken a long break from running, so I skipped running through Marble Hill Park and Twickenham instead cutting through to St. Margarets.

    Whilst heading towards St. Margarets I got a sugar rush off the dates I ate at my last refuelling break (every two miles), unfortunately I couldn’t exploit this burst of energy for too long because I had to pop into Tesco’s to pick up some eggs for the post run fry up :D I can confirm that you can run with a half dozen eggs and not end up with scrambled eggs!

    During my run I beat a jogger, a four-woman rowing team (who were probably slowing down for the rowers ahead who were turning around) and two solo rowers.

    I did resist the temptation to punch the air. This is the price you pay if you go up against booyaa, you will lose! Or at very worse get blogged about in my running posts!

    I need to start measuring out a few routes for the FIRST training. I had originally planned on using some of the river walk, but this was on the assumption that my speed training was on a weekend, it’s actually on Tuesdays. So I need to find somewhere straight and reasonably lit.

    Marathon Time Completion Predict-o-matic â„¢: I ran 8.46 mi in 1 hours, 15 minutes and 33 seconds today. Based on my last run, I will complete my first marathon in
    4 hours 08 minutes and 01 seconds.

    I’m getting closer to my goal of running a sub-4 hour marathon!

      How was your long run this week? I noticed you’ve hit 12.5 miles already. Settled on any good routes?

      This was it, the regular running routine started again on the following Tuesday.
