Saving time with the N95
By booyaa | August 3, 2007
Last night I utilised a handy feature of my phone. Lou gave me a big shopping list and rather than try to find somewhere to stop and type in the list on my Blackberry I activated the recorder application and recorded the conversation.
My only two gripes:
- The lack of one button touch activation, at the moment it involves several clicks including launch the apps. Perhaps I’ll discover how to do this in the manual?
- The annoying beep every 5 seconds. I know this is for privacy issues, but every 5 seconds? About a variable frequency like every minute, 5 mins etc?
The other potential time save is the use of the barcode scanner application, wait don’t get too excited about the “barcode” bit, its not the UPC or lines based one. The barcode is actually some called a semacode, which is a square with a monocromatic pattern that when scanned in turns into a url, text or a number.
I’m thinking of making a web page that contains various websites I frequent. I can then “zap” them off the flat screen tv (this trick won’t work on an old school crt). Infact if you’re quick you can see a semacode on my webpage (its in the sidebar).
